Be it a wedding event or a meeting for work, it can earn you a lots of points and elite qualifying nights to get you closer to your dream vacation and an elite tier at your preferred hotel chain.
In India there are quite a few hotel chains which can earn you points for your meeting and events, some of which are:-
Marriott Bonvoy- If you are hosting an event or a meeting at Marriott this will earn you 2 points for every dollar spent, upto 60000 points per event/meeting if you are not an elite tier member. It will earn you additional points according to your tier. This will also earn you 10 elite qualifying nights, enough to make you a silver tier member at Marriott (this benefit is capped per calendar year). https://www.marriott.com/loyalty/earn/rewarding-events.mi
ITC group of hotels- While ITC does not allow you to earn points in its own program i.e club ITC, it does let you earn points on your Marriott account as ITC and Marriott have a tie up in India and ITC comes under Marriott's Luxury Collection Hotel. Note ITC does not promote this and thus you have to ask them at the time of signing the contract to include this benefit.
Hyatt- Hyatt is the most rewarding when it comes to events specially if you are hosting a wedding. For a normal meeting or event Hyatt lets you earn 1 point per dollar spent, up to 50000 points https://world.hyatt.com/content/gp/en/rewards/meetings-events.html.
